Image Findings:A round mass is seen in the midline of the posterior nasopharynx that is of low signal intensity on T1-weighted images and high signal intensity on T2-weighted images.
Discussion:The Thornwaldt cysts represents residual notocordal tissue in the posterior nasopharynx. Respiratory epithelium may ingrow with development of a cystic fluid collection. The peak incidence is in the ages between 15 and 30 years.
